2 DAYS KAYAKING & ADVENTURE TRIP
The small town of Jinja in eastern Uganda is best known for being the Source of the River Nile. This small town on Lake Victoria was once Uganda’s industrial hub and its turn of the 20th century architecture is appealing to history lovers. Sadly, many of the town’s buildings town went into decline after Idi Amin’s expulsion of the Indian community in 1972.

Itinerary summary
- DAY 1: DRIVING FROM KAMPALA TO JINJA
- DAY 2: KAYAKING/WHITE WATER RAFTING/VILLAGE NATURE WALK

Early in the morning at 8:00 am, transfer to Jinja, en route take a nature walk in Mabira Forest, famous for its giant ancient tree species, butterflies and bird life such as Nahan’s Francolin, Wood-Hoopoe, African Pitta, Tit Hylia, Yellow Longbill, Grey Longbill, Purple-throated Cuckoo-shrikes and Illadopsis species.
Primates include red tailed monkeys and Ugandan Mangabeys. If you’re lucky, you may also spot shy wildlife such as bush-pigs and blue duikers. After the nature walk, we proceed to Jinja for lunch. After lunch at around 2:30 pm, we proceed to explore and experience the source of the Nile by boat. End the day at about 5:00 pm. Overview of River Nile

On this day, we go kayaking for 4 hours, however there are other (optional) activities like white water rafting or a village nature walk. Kayaking on Itanda Falls is an exciting activity not to be missed. The falls are a powerful, mesmerising stretch white water that can be viewed from a rocky hill or by kayak (for experienced kayakers only) “request for your grade of rafting”. Other options include a village walk.
After lunch, take the Gayaza Road towards Kampala visit Gallery Antique a traditional tribal arts gallery showcasing African sculptures, shields, pottery, museum-quality headrests, spears, masks and other exciting ancient art pieces. Meet Joe Ndyanabangi a dealer and collector who has travelled through sub-Saharan Africa for during the last 20 years collecting and researching about tribal artifacts, some of which are now displayed and for sale at his private gallery. Explore his tribal and antiques collection while learning about his travels.
After this visit, the tour will end when our driver returns you to your drop-off point.
